Michael trained in Garden Design and Horticulture from 2008-2012, sustaining a back injury working in this industry. He tried many therapies to assist his rehabilitation and he found Pilates to be the most effective. It enabled steady improvements, allowing him to move around normally again and perform essential daily tasks with confidence. He also quickly discovered that it had positive effects on the mind as well as the body.
Michael aims to take his Pilates knowledge into daily life: to sit and stand correctly; to bend, lift and move around efficiently; and to teach others to do the same. He believes there is always more to learn about your own body, no matter how strong or flexible you are, or how much movement experience you have. Michael feels that understanding your body and mind is a lifelong learning curve, and Pilates is an accessible and effective way to enhance this learning. Michael trained as a Pilates Matwork teacher at Bodywise in 2018 and he joined the teaching team in 2019
