Introductory Movement Session
This workshop is an invitation to move differently.
We’ll step beyond familiar patterns of demonstration, correction, and performance and into exploration, play, and connection. Through partner work, group movement games, and collaborative problem solving, you’ll experience movement as conversation rather than instruction.
Together we’ll experiment with observing not only the body but also the nervous system - noticing effort, ease, anticipation, adaptability and the subtle ways we respond to challenge, uncertainty and interaction.
Expect laughter, curiosity and moments of surprise. Some activities may feel unfamiliar at first but the workshop is designed to feel accessible, supportive and gently expansive. There is no ‘perfect’ way to do any of it.
This is a space to soften the pressure to know, perform or get it right - and to rediscover the intelligence that emerges through listening, responding and playing with others.
WORKSHOP BENEFITS:
You’ll leave with fresh movement experiences, new ways of observing and practical ideas for bringing more creativity, adaptability and human connection into your teaching
PRESENTER BIO:
Mike did the Comprehensive training at Pilates off the Square (under the PF) in 2003. Since then, his greatest achievement in the Pilates world was being husband and partner to the legendary Anoushka Boone. He was her sidekick for many years of teacher training and has always especially enjoyed working with fellow teachers.

CERI MAK
10.45am - 12pm
Mat Class
This workshop offers Pilates teachers the opportunity to move alongside other like-minded practitioners, exploring the Pilates repertoire together through curiosity, creativity, and a playful approach to movement. As experienced movers, we’ll come together to deepen our practice with an emphasis on connection, grounding, centring, and breath.
Together, we’ll explore proprioception from the feet upwards, creating a strong sense of connection throughout the whole body. We’ll awaken deep intrinsic muscles to build a stable foundation that supports efficiency, endurance, and easeful, enjoyable movement.
Blending both classical and contemporary Pilates approaches, this workshop invites you to reconnect with the repertoire in a thoughtful and creative way. Expect space to move, play, observe, refine, reflect and connect — leaving you feeling stronger, more aware, and deeply connected in your practice.
EQUIPMENT REQUESTS:
Yoga block and toning/magic circle.
Mat.
WORKSHOP BENEFITS:
- Feel grounded
- Centred
- Playful and creative
PRESENTER BIO:
Ceri trained as a Pilates mat teacher with the Pilates Foundation in 2008. A passionate mover and lifelong student, she is deeply committed to Pilates, movement education, and continued learning. Originally beginning her career in marketing, she discovered Pilates as the perfect antidote to the demands of a busy working life — and from there, her passion for the method grew.
Like many dedicated Pilates teachers, Ceri continues to evolve her own practice through ongoing study of Pilates as a whole system, alongside a variety of complementary movement disciplines. Inspired by fellow teachers as much as by her clients, she brings an open-minded, compassionate and precise approach to teaching, always with a focus on helping people feel and move better.
Ceri is passionate about supporting clients to build confidence, awareness, and trust within their bodies. She believes that as our bodies change throughout different stages of life, our teaching must evolve too, which is what makes Pilates and its community such a supportive and rewarding space to be part of.

BROOKE SILER
1.30 - 5.30pm
The Upper Hand - Beginner to Intermediate Matwork
Join in the 15-30+ exercises of the Beginner to Intermediate Series of the Classical Mat. In this workshop you will learn how to deepen the work for yourselves and for your clients, through specific hands-on help. Because the Matwork doesn’t have the benefit of the apparatus for support and feedback, I will teach you how to use your hands to give your client similar feedback. Participants will be able to experience the system from the perspective of both teacher and student by partnering to experience the tactile cueing. Come prepared, work hard, sweat and touch and be touched.
Pandiculation Pilates on the Mat
Feel incredible while improving your Pilates practice! Preventing the build-up of muscular tension is critical to healthy movement but releasing that tension doesn’t happen the way you might think. In this workshop, Brooke will teach you how to call upon your body’s natural pandicular response, during a mat workout, to restore and/or gain more control over your muscles while resetting the level of tension in your muscles. Learn why Joe Pilates called for this action from the body.
EQUIPMENT REQUESTS:
Mats (thicker than a yoga mat - or use 2 yoga mats, one on top of the other)
A small towel.
WORKSHOP BENEFITS:
The Upper Hand - Beginner to Intermediate Matwork – Gets you and your client deeper into feeling the work. You’ll feel mat exercises – and perhaps understand them - as you may not have before. You’ll learn cheat-busting techniques to make sure your clients get the most from their workout and your hands.
Pandiculation Pilates on the Mat – Learn why stretch isn’t what you think it is, and how to take advantage of Joe’s principles of Tension and Relaxation. See the system from a new perspective. Work hard but leave relaxed.
